Nashville is known for country music, honky tonks and bachelorette parties. But just outside of town there is some of the best, most untapped fly fishing in the country. That’s right. We hardly see other anglers on the water. Whether you’re brand new to fishing, or a world traveling angler, our Nashville based fly fishing guides and light tackle guides will provide you an unforgettable day.

  • Tennessee has world renowned bass fisheries. Professional bass tours come to these massive lakes every year. These lakes require large boats with outboards and everyone down here bass fishes the big waters. What has that left? Small rivers all around the state that people don’t fish due to difficult access. Private land locks up miles of rivers. The few access points that do exist don’t allow you to launch a bass boat or jon boat - and even if you could you would quickly run it aground in shallow water. Fortunately, we have boats that are more than capable in these situations- in fact, they’re designed just for this type of water.

  • We’ve spent our entire lives running fly fishing trips out of rafts and drift boats out west. We moved down here and brought that style of fishing trip to Nashville.

The rivers we fish aren’t necessarily secret - they can be found online with a little bit of digging. Unfortunately, thats just about all you’ll find. A name and the types of fish that live in the river. Knowing that we wanted to find waters to run fly fishing trips out of our rafts, we set out to explore.

We went to “boat ramps” only to find that it’s not a boat ramp at all- rather a narrow, winding staircase down a steep hill. We ended the day at take outs that require you to drag a boat and your gear up a mountain. We found that water flows fluctuate WILDLY, resulting in water that’s too high or too low for an effective fishing day. We occasionally had to portage the boat over mid river obstacles.

Essentially, we forced our style of fishing and found ways to make it happen. In the process, we found amazing fishing and had the realization that no one was out there doing what we were.

  • Not only are these waters being ignored by most fishermen, but the few that do fish them only throw conventional gear. That means most of the fish in our waters rarely, if ever lay eyes on a fly. We have bass that will blow up on poppers, musky that will inhale 10+inch streamers, and trout that give us year round fishing opportunities.

PICTURE YOURSELF FLOATING DOWN A RIVER CHASING FISH THAT ALMOST NEVER SEE FLIES. THAT IS WHAT FLY FISHING IN NASHVILLE, TN IS ALL ABOUT.
